The MotoGP world is buzzing with a surprising revelation from Aprilia's top brass. Despite their recent success, Aprilia's CEO, Massimo Rivola, has expressed disappointment over the lack of a title sponsor.

In a bold statement, Rivola admitted to feeling frustrated, especially considering Aprilia's impressive performance last season, which saw them finish second in the manufacturers' standings. With four wins under their belt, Aprilia is the only factory team without a naming partner, a stark contrast to their competitors.

"When you believe in a project, you win by sharing it with your team and partners," Rivola said, highlighting the importance of collaboration. He believes that Aprilia's success should translate into attracting top sponsors, but this hasn't been the case so far.

"I'm a bit disappointed that we haven't secured a top-tier title sponsor," Rivola confessed. "Our partners' belief in our vision is crucial for our continued success."

The situation is made more complex by Aprilia's financial reality. As a smaller manufacturer compared to giants like Honda and Yamaha, Aprilia faces unique challenges. Despite being part of the Piaggio Group, they are still outshone by the likes of Ducati's parent company and KTM's new owner.

But here's where it gets controversial: Rivola suggests that MotoGP's commercial potential hasn't been fully realized, especially when compared to Formula 1. With Liberty Media's recent acquisition, MotoGP is now under the same ownership as F1, yet team valuations remain vastly different.

"MotoGP needs to elevate its brand image," Rivola explained. "Riders are our ambassadors, and we must showcase the best show in the world."

And this is the part most people miss: MotoGP's calendar has expanded significantly, with a record 22 rounds in the 2025 season. Rivola believes a larger calendar is manageable, but teams need better financial returns.

"We need to raise the business level in MotoGP," he emphasized. "Income is key, and as top sponsors join, we'll all benefit."
