Jordyn Woods, engaged to Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns, is embracing the NBA Finals journey with her partner. As the Knicks make their run, Woods has become a familiar face courtside, often accompanied by Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet. Her presence adds a layer of glamour and excitement to the team's success.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Woods shared her thoughts on the partnership with Reese’s x Oreo, her game-day fashion choices, and the lucky orange purse that has become a Knicks good-luck charm. She also discussed the electric atmosphere at Madison Square Garden, the impact of the Knicks' run on the city, and the couple's plans for celebration if the Knicks win the Finals.
On the Reese’s x Oreo Collaboration:
"I mean, the whole city is orange and blue right now, so it only made sense. For me, growing up, my favorite go-to, even when trick-or-treating, was Reese’s. It was always the one thing I was looking forward to. So, it felt serendipitous that it was Reese’s x Oreo, orange and blue. It all just made sense."
Game-Day Glam and the Lucky Purse:
"I do my makeup myself. It’s part of my routine now. I feel like it’s only right to keep it going. I have a very specific routine: I film my get-ready-with-me. I decide after if I’m going to post it. I take my bag, as everyone has been seeing, the orange bag. Outfit-wise, I decide the day before, or sometimes two hours before the game. When I’m on the road, I have to decide what I’m gonna wear, but typically, my road outfits are a lot more chill and casual. Just because it’s someone else’s arena, it’s harder to get around. You don’t know what to expect and anticipate, and then I have my Reese’s x Oreos in my bag for my emergency snack, just in case, you never know when you’re just gonna need a little boost. (Laughs.)"
"The whole thing was a superstition for me. It happened very organically. It wasn’t intentional. I was never the one that was like, “This is the lucky bag. Everyone needs to say that.” It just happened. It is immense pressure that the one time I couldn’t bring the bag, and we lost, so now it has created more of a hysteria. But it happened in the most organic way, and I’m so grateful that it’s my own brand and people are loving it. So, I didn’t create the phenomenon. Social media did, but I’m definitely loving it."
The Impact on the City:
"The city is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. I’ve never seen a fandom like this, and no matter who the person is, they’re fully there, cheering on their team. No shame. No one’s trying to be too cool or too anything. Everyone’s there for the same reason, and it’s brought so many people together. It’s truly a one-of-a-kind experience. I’m so grateful to see, witness and be a part of it. And honestly, crime’s down in the city, people are coming together, the economy is booming, people’s small businesses are doing better. There’s a lot of positivity coming out of the Knicks winning. It’s been an unreal experience."
Celebration Plans:
"We’ve literally just been living moment by moment. The highs, you don’t want to get too high, you don’t want to get too low, you just want to stay humble. We’re not thinking too far ahead, we’re just thinking game by game. So, I wish I could tell you we had some crazy plans. I am in my bridal era, so we have a lot to look forward to, getting married and whatnot. But right now it’s just game by game, moment by moment. We have not planned anything, we’re like “Let’s just get through each day as it comes.”"
